About Me
As a child I struggled with anxiety and would often wonder if other kids felt the way I felt. I would feel very lonely and would turn to shows like Dragon Tales, Clifford the Big Red Dog, and Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood as a form of comfort. I loved the colors used in these shows. I loved the characters’ soft voices and the storylines’ focus on friendship, adventure, and love.
Reflecting on my childhood through journal entries, photographs, home videos, and doodles help me to achieve the kind of sweetness and tenderness that I hope to express through my art. This process has shown me how I have changed and grown, but also how I have stayed the same through my twenties.
Being around people while creating my work allows me to converse with others so I can see how their personal memories relate to my own. My work focuses on the feeling of comfort whether that be through paintings of scenes from a quiet morning or through relatable or funny illustrations. I hope to connect with children and adults that also face anxiety and feelings of loneliness.
Education
I received my Bachelor’s degree in Visual Studies with a minor in Digital Marketing from Temple University’s Tyler School of Art and Fox School of Business in May of 2023.
